Now that the holidays are in full swing and people are simultaneously worried about their jobs and money and spending money on gifts and parties. I thought this would be a good time to revisit some good old fashioned stress busters that people may need to come back to in order to survive this time of year. As many people are aware this is not only one of the happiest times of year for a lot of folks it is also one of the most stressful and depressing times of year for a lot of people as well. So if you are feeling on edge and ready to pop the next person that wishes you a happy holiday try and remember some of these stress busters to get you through those tough moments.
A new technique that I recently read about is called Progressive Muscle Relaxation or PMR. Basically this is a way to relax the stress in your muscles in a relatively quick fashion and ironically enough it’s done by purposefully stressing your muscles. You flex certain muscle groups one at a time for about a 10 second hold then you release, working your way through all the different muscle groups from your head down to your toes. It can all be done in less than five minutes as well.
Here’s an easy one that I just started doing myself recently. Do as much of your morning rituals as you can the night before. For example I would make lunches for the whole family in the morning, I know do those at night which has freed up 15 to 20 minutes of my time in the morning. I also set clothes aside as well which has enabled me to get an extra 30 minutes of sleep and getting enough sleep is one of the best stress busters you can do for yourself.
OK last one and believe it or not this can be one of the more difficult task for you to accomplish yet it is a simple two letter word. Practice saying NO! That’s right no to those extra work projects or social events that you have neither the energy or time to do. I know a lot of people that have trouble with making time for themselves and continue to push their lives in 100 different directions trying to do it all. Try saying no once in a while and saying yes to some time for yourself. What are some of your favorite stress busters that might be helpful to others during this holiday season?

holidays are the best times when families gather all together and spend lovely time. there should be no place for corporate and work related events, if one doesn't enjoy them. enjoy your time the way you want to, not the way you have to.
thanks for the tips and the comment Rose!
