The Stress Relieving Power Of Happy

Category : Stress Relief

I saw a few articles about a booming new field of researchers in the field of psychology that are focused on the effects of positive attitudes. This happiology as it was referred to by one doctor seems to be finding some traction in the medical community as there was a world conference of about 1500 practicing positive thinking psychologist in Philadelphia.

The idea that the importance of your mindset in terms of optimism has a direct effect not only on your mental attitude but your over all health is by no means a new concept. I personally like the idea that there are a growing number of professionals out there that are looking at peoples positive and negative mind sets and how that correlates to your over all health.

Seriously though would you not agree that people that seem to have more success in life either emotionally, physically, financially or in relationships are the people who tend to have a more “positive” out look on life in general? It’s been my experience as well that these people tend to be less stressed out as well and generally happier and healthier than most.

People who have a more even keel about life and generally speaking have a more resilient outlook even when life’s challenges come up. They are happier in their jobs, relationships and with their health which leaves you to wonder why there are not more of these positive psychologists.

I mean isn’t it obvious that there is a direct correlation between being “happy” and the amount of success people have in their lives, whatever their measuring stick for success is. Whether it be family, careers or financial success. Are we as a society so entrenched in our reasons for depression, negativity and anti-depressant pill popping culture that we are so blind to the obvious which is the power of a positive outlook in life can effect the human mind, body and spirit?
